Went with my friend to Crown Pita in Pickering for lunch. My friend has a service dog. On entering, staff, with elevated voices, told us that dogs weren’t allowed. When we tried explaining that the dog was a service dog, they raised their voices further and told us that we couldn’t be there with the dog. Feeling very uncomfortable, we left. Misunderstandings happen, but the staff there centred out my friend and made it clear that they had do desire to dialogue about the situation.

My husband found this place while working. We drive from Warkworth to JPs! (an hour) just for lunch!
he makes everything himself from the fresh cut fries to the chicken and beef and pork. His spices and sauces are delicious and authentic. My husband LOVES the pulled pork poutine, while I enjoy the classic chicken pita with his homemade traditional tzatziki sauce. Can't beat it!

All their food is great. I am in love with their Wonton Noodle soup and come in regularly to have for my lunch....so yummy with lots of noodles & homemade pork wontons. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Located several blocks south of the main downtown street, this house converted over to a country-decor eatery is a popular breakfast spot for locals! It can be crowded on weekends. Breakfast is plentiful with home fries & fresh fruit - well cooked,not greasey! Delicious eggs benedict! It has great dinners here too, providing free live weekend entertainment later in the summer evenings. (Easy listening/Western/Rock& Roll two person bands seem the norm...well suited to the casual dining atmosphere in this licensed restaurant!) This is our favourite place to dine on our way to cottage country in the summer! It has a friendly efficient staff. The food is cooked by the owner - chef with several skilled helpers. Their pride in their culinary arts shows with healthy creatively cooked meals. Some of their dinners are so large that they offer 1/2 orders - this choice in their great Roast Beef & Yorkshire Pudding Dinner was plenty for me! With good seating for small or large groups, this is definately a family restaurant serving all age groups. They serve breakfast early and go to mid afternoon, then close for an hour or so then open for dinner. Limited free parking behind the house and on the local street. Try to go at off hours to be assured a seat in this popular eatery!
